Greyhound trainers can be very expert in spotting and treating problems arising from old racing injuries. Greyhounds not only suffer leg injuries, but their necks and backs do take a beating too on the race track, for example at the pick up when dogs hurtle at high speed on to the mechanical hare which has slowed down to a stop.

Cervical and dorsal inter-vertebral disc problems can cause sudden squeals of pain which make the neighbours think you are murdering your dog!

Trainers Joe Ellul and Pat Thompson in Kent are very expert at feeling and gently manipulating the problem away under their experienced hands.
