VISIT TO GIN AND WINDSOR

We had a wonderful day at the GIN head office in Egham in September, where
we were made very welcome by Carolyn, Tracey and Geraldine. It was good to see
the offices where all the co-ordination and activity takes place. They had very
kindly invited us to lunch and organised a boat trip on the Thames which we all
enjoyed. The weather was glorious and we had a lovely day.

We would love to go back to Windsor and to GIN HQ sometime in the near
future, as it was a very poignant time for our first visit. The Queen had only
recently passed away, so there was a very subdued atmosphere in Windsor itself
whilst we were there. We were able to see the people coming to pay their
respects with flowers and other tributes, as well as walk along The Long Walk.

     SAD NEWS

As well as Trish we have also learnt about several more of our four legged friends
who have passed over the Bridge in the last few months.

In October we heard that Liz and Clint had lost their beautiful greyhound girl
Dolly, who is very much missed by them and her galgo brother Sprocket.

At the end of December we heard from our friends Cindy and Steve in Blackpool
that they had lost their handsome black greyhound Rudy. Rudy and his greyhound
sister Angel were popular and very regular visitors until recent times to our
     fundraisers in Cleveleys.

Derrick and Ellie have lost their beautiful greyhound sisters Gold and Ali, who had
featured in a previous edition of this Newsletter about some of the old timers.
Sadly there are now fewer and fewer of the old timers left.

Pascal and Mireille have also recently lost one of their greyhound boys, Diesel,
who we used to see regularly on our walks at Marbury.

We have missed seeing everyone with their dogs and hope that this year we will
be able to meet up again at Marbury and Styal Country Parks.

Details will be posted on the GIN Facebook page once we have arranged any dates
     for our walks.

Hopefully the next few months will be happier and brighter for us all. Next time
I write I am looking forward to being able to welcome a new four legged member
of the family into our lives.

Take care everyone and see you again soon
