After spending a couple of hours
at the site looking around and
seeing the building progress, a
return to air conditioning and cold
drinks was welcomed by all.
In the evening, we met the Board members who had been unable to meet us
earlier and with all the Board members present discussed GIN’s possible help
and the aspirations and future plans for their shelter.
The next morning, after going over some more information and details with
Board members, we bade farewell to them and returned to Madrid where we
caught the flight home to cooler temperatures.
It is inspiring to meet groups of Spanish people who continue to fight to
improve animal welfare in Spain, despite the problems and animosity they
encounter.
“The world won’t change if you adopt a galgo but for that galgo the world
will change”.
