News Update

      Dear Friends,

I started with GIN many years ago as an Administrator and now I’m
“the Newbie” in my new role as the General Manager of GIN. I would like to
say many thanks to Carolyn who was an amazing mentor and who over the last
few months sat patiently with me and helped me prepare for the smooth
transition to General Manager. I have many happy and funny memories of our
time together both in the office of which she will always be a part of and our
trips to the shelters in Spain, Cockroaches and hairy caterpillars come to
      mind!!

Carolyn is now happily retired and
enjoying the next chapter of her life.
Being someone who doesn’t like a fuss
we surprised her with a small farewell
get together at the office on her last
day—well we couldn’t let her go quietly
after 24 years!! We enjoyed cake and
      reflecting back on Carolyn’s memories
over the years with GIN. I would like
to say on behalf of us all Carolyn, may
you be proud of the work you have done and the difference you have made.
Have a Happy Retirement and enjoy every minute of it and it goes without
saying the kettle will always be on for you here to pop in and join us for a
      cuppa in your special cup.

Liz who joined us in May is our new Administrative Assistant and has settled in
well to “life at GIN”. She has already been busy at fundraising events and as
part of her job will be handling the GIN merchandise—orders, online shop etc.
and has put together the enclosed catalogue.

On pages 8 and 9 you can see pictures of our new group of galgos that arrived
on the 17th of September. Sue, Lynda and Mark continue to help us with the
homing and have been getting to know our new galgos and find out more about
      them.

In June Trustees Christine and Leigh visited a new
shelter in Caceres to see how GIN can help them. You
can read all about their trip on pages 6 and 7.

Our 2024 calendars and cards are available now along
with our Christmas cards and other items for you and
your dogs. We feature some of our new items on page
12 and many more in the enclosed catalogue — please take a look and also visit
      our site. https://greyhoundsinneed.co.uk/shop/
