In our last newsletter we
mentioned that Martin
Humphery had sadly passed
away in January of this year.
In June Carolyn and I were
invited to represent GIN at
“Martin’s farewell party” held
at Burgh House, Hampstead.
Many of the charities Martin
supported over the years
attended and GIN’s patron
Peter Egan opened the
proceedings with some lovely
words reflecting
Martin’s time with GIN
and his love for the
Greyhounds and Galgos.
A BIG THANK YOU from all of us at GIN to all of
you who responded so generously to our Summer
raffle during these difficult times, making it a great
success. With tickets and linked donations we raised
£3870. Our Trustee, Geraldine Jones helped by her
galgo Jake, kindly drew the winning tickets for us.
The winners were:
st
1 Prize – £500 to Mrs S Dorman, Devon
2nd Prize – £250 to Mrs L Loft, Kent
3rd Prize – £100 to Mrs S Chandler, Surrey
There were also runner up prizes to entries
from Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, Sussex,
Yorkshire, Scotland and London.
Last Year’s online raffle for a weekend break in a
fabulous dog friendly 5 star holiday cottage in
Northumberland as a raffle prize went very well.
Louise has kindly offered this great prize again to us
this year, so get your tickets online to be in with a
chance to experience this and help us raise funds for
our work.
We enclose a flyer giving full details/links for this on
line raffle including photos of this lovely cottage.
I would like to say a BIG thank you to Liz and Geraldine for all their help and
support in the office these last few months since taking on my new role.
Also to all our supporters who continue to help GIN in their own way to
help us raise funds towards our work for the greyhounds and galgos.
It just leaves me to say I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and
a Happy New Year with your families and dogs.
Tracey x
