News Update
Dear Friends,
It is hard to believe that it is newsletter time again. This year has been a
very difficult one for all of us. From March—August we took it in turns to
come to the office each day to deal with post and orders and worked from
home the rest of the time. From the beginning of September myself and
Tracey went back to the office full-time and we have been working on this
newsletter and the enclosed catalogue and generally catching up with
everything.
We would like to thank all involved for once again supporting our summer raffle
which, with tickets and linked donations, brought in around £9,400.
Due to the current situation our
Trustee, Geraldine Jones, kindly
drew the winning tickets for us -
1st Prize - £1,000—
Mrs Swann, Worcestershire
2nd Prize – £500—Mrs Barford,
Worcestershire
3rd Prize - £100 - Mrs Fenwick,
Co.Durham
There were also runner up prizes to
entries from Isle of Man, Surrey and
Sussex.
A big THANK YOU from all of us at GIN to all of you who responded so
generously to our raffle during these difficult times, making it a great
success.
We mentioned in our last newsletter that we had to delay the arrival of our
galgos who were due to arrive in April. I am pleased to say they finally arrived
in June and have all been adopted (please see page 16) We were also able to
bring 15 more galgos over in July—please see pages 17-20 for the latest news
on them.
We have had a lot of interest in the galgos and home visits and kennel visits
have taken longer to organise. We have been fortunate to have help with the
homing from a local GIN supporter, Sue Sarney. Sue has adopted two galgos
from GIN over the years and organised and helped at many events. She has
been able to contact potential adopters and organise some socially distanced
home and kennel visits for us.
