News Update

Dear Friends,

The last 10 months or so of being General manager for GIN have been
challenging at times but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Everyday is
different but our main objective is to provide care, shelter and suitable homes
for the greyhounds and galgos we rescue here and abroad.
I hope you will enjoy reading this newsletter and catching up on our work over
the last few months. In our last newsletter Trustees Christine and Leigh
visited a new shelter in Caceres and you can read the update on how GIN have
helped them with this project on pages 6 and 7.
We continue to raise awareness with children and young people
through our education programme in Spain, you can catch up with
this on pages 18 and 19.

Liz decided to leave GIN last December and her replacement Maria started
with us in March. In the short time she has been with us, Maria has settled
into her role extremely well and has even produced the enclosed Merchandise
catalogue. Maria shares her home with a greyhound called Patch along with a
Cavapoo called Buddy and Sammy who is a Scottie/Lakeland terrier cross. We
look forward to meeting Patch sometime in the future when Maria brings him
to work with her one
day.
In the meantime we
have galgo Jake who
comes in with our
Trustee Geraldine and
keeps us entertained. He
doesn't like to share his
bed with another dog at
all even a toy one,
especially when it’s
Siesta time!!

Our eBay for charity site is still doing very well. Many thanks to our volunteer
Janet who comes in week after week to research and list donated items for us
to sell. We have received some lovely donations throughout the year to sell
along with all the used postage stamps and these raise funds towards our work
for the greyhounds and galgos.
Also some supporters have loaded up items and donated a percentage or all of
their sale items to GIN so many thanks to you all for doing this. If you have
