Rosie
On 18th July, our dear friend Pat lost her beloved brindle greyhound Rosie who
had reached the wonderful age of 14 years. Pat has been a supporter of GIN for
many years. Rosie had had a wonderful life enjoying many holidays abroad,
particularly to Spain. She will be greatly missed by her devastated owners. Pat
     and Ian.

     Lilly
On 31st July we learnt of the sad passing of beautiful Lilly LILLY
who was dearly loved by Jo, Leo, Poppy and all her family in
Fleetwood. Lilly and her greyhound sister Jet, who died a
couple of years ago, were regular supporters, together
with their family, of our fundraisers in Cleveleys.

     Duke
Pascal and Mireille, who have been loyal supporters of GIN for many years, let us
know that they had lost their handsome black greyhound Duke on 17th August.
We had seen him at Marbury only a few days before. Although he hadn't been
homed by GIN, he was a welcome member of our GIN family.

     Failed Fostering
     Cora MYRON AND CORA
Last, but by no means least, we learnt in August of the
not unexpected news of a failed foster placement by
someone who claimed that she had enough dogs already
and wasn't going to adopt any more. Cora is a stunning
black and white girl who has quickly made herself at
home in the Aberdeenshire countryside with our friend
Carol and not surprisingly "isn't going anywhere". We look forward to meeting her
on our next visit to Scotland.

Well, I think that's about all for now from here in the North West. We are not
planning any fundraisers in Cleveleys for the foreseeable future. Last year's
event was cold and wet, and in the present economic climate it just wasn't
worthwhile. We missed having a dog of our own to attract passers by and
although we were well supported by our volunteers, we have decided not to
organise anything this year. We still hope to meet up with friends and volunteers
at social dog walks when we can.

We hope that the autumn and winter are not too harsh for you and your four
legged friends. We are still on the lookout for the right dog who needs us.

We look forward to being in touch with everyone in the spring
