TRIBUTES
Mia (ex-GDS) 10/11/2019 - 25/07/2022
Our beautiful Mia has crossed the rainbow bridge far too
early, taking a piece of our hearts with her. Mia joined our
family on 1st July 2021. Initially cautious, she soon settled
and was such a happy girl. She loved life - bouncing through
long grass, shouting at squirrels, sniffing/scent-work games,
sunbathing, zoomies at the secure dog field, demanding
endless belly-rubs, and meeting her friends at the local
sighthound walking group. Mia was funny, playful, calm,
loving, trusting… also an expert at destroying toys and gently
nibbling the corners of cushions, curtains, books, my reading
glasses… She made us smile, she made us laugh and we
loved her so much. Unfortunately Leishmaniasis was silently
taking hold of Mia’s kidneys, with no visible symptoms until
it was too late. She became ill on her first gotcha day and
lost her battle three weeks later. We have so many happy Mia
memories of Mia’s time with us, but a year was nowhere near
enough with this beautiful soul. Rachel
We were sorry to hear that Rachel had lost her lovely galga Lulu recently. We all
remember when Rachel collected her from the kennels some years ago now.
We were also sorry to hear, from Margaret in Cornwall, that she had to say goodbye to
Mario who had developed some heart and lung problems. Margaret kindly gave Mario a
home when Anne Finch died.
Sorti It’s with a great sadness I write to let you know we lost our
beloved Sorti today. She was peacefully put to sleep in our
home with big cuddles - Off to rainbow bridge to join her brothers
Terry and Puppy (Domingo) and the many others of her extended
family that have lived with us and her all over the years, including
old GIN lovelies Annie, Duque and Tana. Adopted with
assistance from Carolyn in 2013 she sadly left us today at a ripe
old age of 13yrs after a short but aggressive bout of pancreatitis
believed caused by a tumour. She leaves a gaping hole bigger
than I can explain, but that’s testament to the amazing dog she was
….We had some amazing times with her, and these were in the last year so she enjoyed life up
till the very end with trips to the coast and on a broads boat. She also leaves a lasting legacy in
teaching my boy, who’s 6, the amazing love and companionship that these wonderful dogs
provide despite their poor starts in life. So it’s with sadness, but also the happiest of memories
we wanted to let you know and thank you for giving us the opportunity to spend such wonderful
years with such a beautiful soul…. Claudia Crisp, Matt and Isaac.
