March 2021 was a very sad month for many of our greyhound friends. Lynn and
Stephen were devastated to lose Mary and Tobi respectively, both very suddenly
during the month. We had mentioned Mary in the last newsletter when she
seemed to be in good health at only ten years of age, living with her older sister
Natalie ; Dot and Mark were heartbroken later in March when they lost their
     beautiful greyhound girl Tia.

     We had featured Syd amongst
our “golden oldies” in the last
     newsletter, but he sadly passed
away at the end of March, leaving
     his mum Adele and greyhound
     sister Peggy both missing him
     very much.

In June we lost our own
     greyhound Polly. We had hoped
that she would have reached her
     twelfth birthday and would have
been able to join us on holiday in Styal Country Park
Cornwall, a place that she loved,
but she just could not make it.
Polly was a character and has left a big greyhound shaped place in our hearts
which will be hard to fill. We only have one greyhound now, Trish, who is twelve,
there was a time when we had five dogs, we cannot remember the last time we
only had one. We are sure that we will have another dog in the future when the
     time is right.

Jo, Leo and their family lost their lovely Jet at the end of July. We had also
featured Jet in the last newsletter. Jo has not been too well, which makes
the loss of Jet even more poignant. We wish Jo the very best of health in the
future, and look forward to hopefully seeing her during our visit to Cleveleys in
     December.

We have been sorry to say “au revoir” to our long time friends and fellow
volunteers, Carol and David, who have recently moved to the Aberdeen area of
Scotland. We will miss their humour and sharp wit as well as their knowledge of
galgos and podencos, which complemented our own knowledge of greyhounds.
Together we made a great team and we will miss them very much, although we
do hope to be able to keep in touch and to visit them in their beautiful part of
     Scotland.

Take care of yourselves and we look forward to seeing you at future walks and
fundraisers which we will keep updated on the GIN website and Facebook pages.

Hoping to see many of you again before the end of the year
