News from Cheshire and the North West
Hello again everyone,
We hope that you and all your family are well. We always try to be positive and
optimistic when we write our articles for the Newsletter and this time we do
have some good news to look forward too. After a difficult time for all of us
we are looking forward to resuming fundraising later in the year.
th
On Saturday December 18 2021, thanks to the very kind people at Wyre
Council, we have organised a street collection for Greyhounds in Need at the
promenade end of the main street of Cleveleys, between Fleetwood and
Blackpool, from 10 am to 4pm.
We are hoping that Cleveleys will be
busy with locals and tourists just
before Christmas, especially as
the Illuminations will still be on in
Blackpool. We cannot wait to meet
up with many of our friends from
the area, who we haven't seen since
before lockdown , as well as raising Marbury walk—24th April
some much needed funds for GIN.
Since writing for the last Newsletter we have arranged three Social Dog Walks
th
in the Cheshire area, two at Marbury Country Park, on Saturday 24 April and

Sunday 29 August and an evening walk at Styal Country Park on Thursday 16th
September, which was a brilliant new venue. All of these walks were very well
attended. We were very lucky with the weather, especially for the autumn
evening walk. We hope to return to both venues before the end of the year.
We were delighted to meet up with our
friend Kath in July. She was over from New
Zealand to visit her family in Warrington.
Many people will remember Kath and her
husband Paul who went to live in New Zealand
with their greyhounds Oz and Gypsy a few
years ago. We had met Kath and Paul when
they lived in Manchester and had helped to
home Oz and Gypsy with them. The dogs
enjoyed a wonderful life in New Zealand and
although they are both now running free at
Rainbow Bridge, Kath is still involved in
rescue and always enjoys meeting up with
our dogs when she is back in the UK.
