TRIBUTES
Gandalf - passed peacefully in my arms from
our world 17.05.2021, he was my beloved
companion for eight years and whatever I write
you may have read it somewhere before. No
matter that doesn't detract from the intense
feeling of loss and the huge empty space he once
filled. He was an old soul who was gifted with Gandalf
making friends easily. His initial shyness quickly
evaporated and he loved the 'cafe scene ' both here and at Whitby where we regularly
spent our holidays. Everyone remembered Gandalf - me not so much so - as it should
be. A wonderful ambassador for Galgos/ Galgas he would pose for photographs and
stand patiently whilst l explained about the plight of his breed and the atrocities
suffered by them in Spain plus the ongoing work done by rescue centres there and
here in England. A sofa hugging hound like all of his kind he had 80 % whilst l
balanced on the edge pretty much the same with 'my' bed! We made many happy
memories together enjoying exploring new places and walks l called them 'Gandalf's
Gadabouts' Whilst ever l remember our life together he will never fade and my
greatest tribute to my friend is to home another Galgo and begin another wonderful
journey with my new hound but never forgetting Gandalf and those that have gone
before. Melanie x

Sad news Aliseda has gone to join Merlin in doggy heaven. She was a wonderful
dog so gentle and loving we will miss her greatly. Joy

We were sorry to hear from Mark that he has had
to say goodbye to Curro. He said “he’s really left a
huge hole in my life, but as I’ve many pictures and
beautiful memories of him, he will always be with me
in my heart. Thank you so much for your kindness.
I do hope to fill my life again, with these beautiful galgos,
when I am ready to move on.
My Boy, Curro xxx RIP.” Mark.
Just to let you know that I had to say goodbye to
my lovely sweet Lulu. Very sad but the right thing
to do. There is now a galgo shaped hole on my sofa Curro
waiting to be filled. Strange how the absence is so
palpable……… Rachel
We were sorry to hear from Pam that she had lost her galga Maisie who she
adopted from GIN nearly 9 years ago.

We were also sorry to hear from Elaine and John that they have recently
lost Tina, after a long illness. They are missing her very much, as is their
galga Wenda.
