This
walk, approximately 4¼ miles long, should take around two hours
at a leisurely pace. It
covers a diverse area of woodland and open heath with plenty of
water stops for the dogs to enjoy.
There are footbridges over most of the streams along the
route and it can be muddy in places – especially after heavy
rainfall. Please wear
appropriate footwear/ waterproofs dependant on recent weather!
The
High Corner Inn is popular with many other users.
The pub is dog friendly and your hounds are welcome. The
car park can be very busy – please take care.
Please respect other users of the forest, especially horses and horse riders and maintain control of your dog. Dogs are supposed to be on leads walking through some enclosures.
Take the A338 from Ringwood towards Fordingbridge. Turn right off the A338 at the sign for The Red Shoot Inn and The High Corner Inn, towards Moyles Court. Follow the signs for Linwood, past the Red Shoot on your left and carry on for about a mile on to the open heath and look out for the High Corner Inn sign to turn left down the gravel track for another ½ mile.
A
donation of £2.00 per person for Greyhounds in Need can be
payable to Sue North before the start of the walk.
All
dogs must be kept under the control and supervision of their
owners. All dogs
