Dogs for HomingCan you offer one of our rescue dogs a loving home? You can see from the lovely photos here that Terry, a galgo from Albacete who completed quarantine earlier this year, has settled in very well with his family in Cheshire. The galgos make wonderful pets and we still have two in the quarantine kennels in Gloucestershire who have not been reserved yet. They are Menta and Dortmund.
Menta is a small, friendly, very happy fawn/white long haired female galga from Albacete. She is nearly two years old and gets on well with her kennel mate, Dortmund. She will make someone a wonderful pet. She loves a fuss as you can see from the photo here. Dortmund is a striking red brindle male galgo from Albacete. He is very friendly, gets on well with Menta. He is approximately 5 years old. He welcomes visitors, especially if they are carrying treats. Menta and Dortmund, along with Leon, Harlem, Simba, Carda, Diva and Colonia will be leaving the quarantine kennels on 15th September. If you feel you could offer a home to Menta or Dortmund please contact Pat Whipps, our Homing Officer on 01784 434735. We also have some greyhounds in kennels or foster homes here in the UK who are also looking for a home.
In Wales we have Madison, she is a black female greyhound, approx. 3 years old. She is a lovely looking dog, housetrained and currently being fostered in a family with other dogs. She can be dominant and really needs a home with an experienced dog owner. For more information on Madison please phone Sian in Wales on 01443 224386.
In Cheshire we have Summer and Finn. Both of these dogs need special homes. Summer is a lovely looking boy but he can be a bit too overprotective with “his” family . He is currently being fostered with Jenny who is pleased with his progress. He has a tendency to bark at other dogs approaching him but the Dog Training Classes he has been attending have helped a lot. He really needs a quiet home maybe with another dog for company. More information on Summer can be found on the DOGS section of our website or from Carol Cushnie on 01925 211530 or Sue & Phil White on 0161 620 6094. Finn sadly came back from his last home and one description of him is “30 minutes of chaos a day and 23.5 hours of calm and cuddles! He is a wonderful dog in many ways but sadly, a bit like Summer, has exhibited some unacceptable dominance with the elderly dog he had been living with. Finn is a very affectionate boy who loves his cuddles however, he does have tendencies to dominate (if allowed) and therefore needs a strict routine. He really needs to be in a home as an only pet. He has come a long way in a relatively short time and with continued training and an experienced owner can progress even further and make someone a wonderful pet. More information about Finn can be found on the DOGS section of our website or from Carol Cushnie on 01925 470992, 07872 621524 or Sue & Phil White on 0161 620 6094. |
